DECOR ON A DIME
1205 Rymal Rd. E. decoronadime.ca

With so many pieces of furniture being unnecessarily sent to the landfill, it only made sense for there to be a place you would go to buy well-loved furniture and home decor in one place. As a consignment store, Decor on a Dime prices pieces with the customer in mind and as a result of that they continue to buy, sell and consign furniture and thousands of home accent pieces a week since 2007. In addition to being a must-visit in home decor shopping, they also offer workshops suitable for any member of the family.

STYLE ENCORE
989 Fennel Ave. E. Unit #7  style-encorehamilton.com

Why buy brand new when you can look great at a fraction of the price and save the planet? At Style Encore, customers are encouraged to "consume less, and express more." Just by buying and selling items, you are a part of a very sustainable, eco-conscious lifestyle that's equally stylish and sophisticated. Recycled clothing saves hundreds to thousands of gallons of water and millions of barrels of oil, elements used to make just a single new garment. By bringing in and selling your gently-used items, you are saving nearly 81 pounds of textiles waste a year; items that would otherwise be placed in landfills. It truly pays to be eco-friendly!

GREEN VENTURE
22 Veevers Dr.  greenventure.ca

Green Venture is dedicated to finding the most positive, practical and long-lasting ways to make Hamilton and area the most environmentally friendly place to be. The EcoHouse has a rich variety of demonstrations best seen through an education program, as part of workshops, or during an open-house special event. But Green Venture also offers self-guided tours of the EcoHouse and grounds. A series of strategically placed posters and displays can provide an illuminating look at topics of environment interest, or alternatively those of heritage interest for the Glen Manor property.
